<![CDATA[Wrestlemania 27 preview]]>Tue, 29 Mar 2011 14:47:46 -0800http://bruiserwrestling.com/2/post/2011/03/wrestlemania-27-preview.htmlI've been looking at the card for Wrestlemania 27 and I have to be honest. It looks pretty good as usual! So let's take a look at all of the matches so far...

U.S. Champion Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan
This match should be very interesting. One thing that will make this match great is that there is no more "King" Sheamus. I guess it's not as bad as hearing Sharmell scream "King Booka!". As always, Bryan has a great move set that is unparallel. Look for Sheamus to use a couple sleeper holds or any other grapple to slow the match down. This will be full of great moves and pale skin. Excitement rating: 6/10

John Morrison, Trish Stratus, and Snooki vs. Dolph Ziggler and Lay-cool

Morrison vs. Dolph would be a great match any night. These are two of the top rising stars in WWE and I would totally expect them both to reach main-event levels in the near future. Trish!!! Need I say more? Hopefully Snooki can stumble to the ring a little better than Jeff Hardy did… As for Lay-Cool, they are always decent to watch. Excitement rating: 6/10

Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole

Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! It will be very refreshing to see Cole get beat down once and for all. Hopefully Jack Swagger doesn’t get too involved. After Cole disgraced Lawler’s recently deceased mother, I wouldn’t be surprised if Cole is taken to the local hospital afterwards. Excitement rating: 8/10

Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes

This is the only match of the night that I personally think could go either way. Could be great! Could be a bummer! Expect a really cool costume from Rey and some fast paced action. On the flip side, Cody has stated that his inspirational wrestler has always been Shawn Michaels and not his dad Dusty. Will Cody follow in Shawn’s footsteps and become the next “Mr. Wrestlemania”? Excitement rating: 5/10

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk

I am going out on a limb and saying that this match has Match of the Year written all over it. I am predicting this will steal the show. The build up for this match has been nothing short of epic. I think it really took off at Elimination Chamber when Punk mocked Orton then eliminated him. Hopefully this won’t be the end of this great feud. Excitement rating: 8/10

The Undertaker vs. HHH

This match also has the makings to be Match of the Year. With HHH being the master of no holds barred matches and the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, who will rise to victory? Can HHH do what Shawn Michaels couldn’t do and defeat the Undertaker? Excitement rating: 9/10

WWE Champion the Miz vs. John Cena

The Miz is living up to his words by becoming the “Must see” wrestler, I mean “Superstar”, right now. But on the flip side, John Cena will be seeking revenge for the past couple of weeks when he was beat down. Will the Rock has any kind of involvement since both Cena and Miz have called him out? One thing is for sure…Miz, this isn’t reality tv anymore so expect a good ‘ole fashion beatdown.
Excitement rating: 9/10

World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio

It has become harder and harder to dislike Del Rio. He has a great move set and is very versatile. The championship belt would look good around his waist…if he can get by Edge. I could only imagine what new kind of vehicle Del Rio would ride into upcoming events in if he wins the belt. I wonder if Christian will get involved though…
Excitement rating: 9/10

So what do you think? What are you favorite matches for this year’s Wrestlemania? Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy this outstanding show!

<![CDATA[Let's Examine: Badd Blood Barron]]>Tue, 22 Mar 2011 14:53:10 -0800http://bruiserwrestling.com/2/post/2011/03/lets-examine-badd-blood-barron.htmlRecently I sat down and talked to BBB. I must say, he is one of the darkest and probably the most terrifying person I've met with. BBB often locks himself in dark rooms and tries to think of new ways to make his opponents suffer in the ring. "I like to cause a severe amount of pain" BBB said. "It's only a matter of time until I am the top dog in Bruiser Wrestling. Tears will be shed and blood will be flowing, so watch out, the Barron is coming!" Weighing in at 205 lbs. and standing 6 feet tall, he can be, and is, dominant. One of the scariest things about this wrestler is....well it's his name!

Badd Blood Barron actually likes blood. He seeks it every time he's in the ring. I have personally seen this rugged wrestler crack someone's head open with his skull cane. BBB isn't someone that you should mess with and I actually encourage any wrestler to just throw in the towel. The only people that are lucky are the fans because after BBB unleashes his rage on his opponent, the animal has calmed until the next match.

<![CDATA[Let's examine: Halloween]]>Sat, 01 Jan 2011 17:53:11 -0800http://bruiserwrestling.com/2/post/2011/01/lets-examine-halloween.htmlAs the first inductee into this new segment called "Let's examine", Halloween is one of Bruiser Wrestling's most exciting and beloved Superstars.

Halloween, the masked man from Haddonfield, is a dominant force in the squared circle. With his arsenal of grapples and strikes, he attacks quickly from almost every angle. Wrestlers have come very close to getting the 3 count against him, until the crowd voices their opinion, which results in a very pumped and determined pumpkin-headed beast! After stepping into the ring with this A-class athlete more times that I would have liked, I can tell you with all honesty, this guy is for real!

He has won multiple Bruiser Wrestling titles including the Tag Team, Cruiserweight, and TV titles. Keep a good eye on him as he rises to utmost prestige in Bruiser Wrestling!

<![CDATA[Cruiserweight Divisions]]>Tue, 14 Dec 2010 15:04:29 -0800http://bruiserwrestling.com/2/post/2010/12/cruiserweight-divisions.htmlRecently I have spoken to numerous friends that have complained about the cruiserweight divisions in mainstream wrestling. WWE has completely abandoned theirs and TNA isn't really focusing in on some great talent. What is the matter with both companies?! WCW took full advantage of their division and put on some of the best matches in their era. Some greats were Dean Malenko vs. Rey Jr. and the Chris Jericho vs. Juventud Guerrera match at SuperBrawl VIII (title vs. mask)! Of course, WWE and TNA have their respective wrestlers that still embrace the fast paced action of the cruiserweight division but, will it ever be as good as it used to be?

<![CDATA[TNA: Ratings battle]]>Mon, 06 Dec 2010 13:44:09 -0800http://bruiserwrestling.com/2/post/2010/12/tna-ratings-battle.htmlAfter going up against WWE's RAW, TNA seems to have learned a valuable lesson. Lesson being that you cannot stop the power house by going for the throat, but as of late TNA seems to be on the rise by biting at the ankles. TNA, at the time, did far better than ECW ratings and quality wise given that it wasn't the real ECW but more a McMahon remake. TNA is producing great shows (except for the mishaps during their ppv last night) and have a great amount of talent. Yes I know that their talent seems to be "washed up" guys jumping ship from WWE but why not use them? If they have somewhat of a name that could potentially help TNA's ratings, I say go for it! As for match quality they are in the running of actually being better than WWE in my opinion. Not just because they are limited to what they can because of the famous "PG Era", but their style and athletic ability just seems far greater. I would rather see the Motor City Machine Guns against Beer Money or Gen Me than watch Juan Cena vs. any Nexus member.

Keep it up TNA and I believe that soon you could be making headway at being the #1 wrestling t.v. program to date.]]>
<![CDATA[WWE's creative on new cage match]]>Fri, 03 Dec 2010 11:33:03 -0800http://bruiserwrestling.com/2/post/2010/12/wwes-creative-on-new-cage-match.htmlWWE's creative team was told recently to come up with a new kind of cage match for the upcoming ppv "Hell in a Cell". WWE is looking for more revenue in this new gimmick styled cage match. Here is my take on the situation:

Some people feel that the HIAC (hell in a cell) match has run its course. Others feel that it doesn't fit into the PG era within the WWE. Personally I think that it should be kept the same as it always has been...just put more meaning into it! I mean look at the HHH vs. Foley match! That was the final solution to their great feud. You can't throw Undertaker and Kane into a HIAC match in this PG era and pretty much run a singles match without using the cage like it was meant to be used. Some fans want to watch any WWE programming and see what they used to see, but are very disappointed in the long run. Sure feuds and wrestlers will change, but some things need to stay the same. What the HIAC match needs isn't an upgrade in height, look, or more sides. It needs more of a purpose.
